Stardate:.. Mission: For Our Sins / Opportunities of Engagements Mission Day 6 Stardate: 2406.07.02 (Starbase Geneva, Sickbay - Dru Tagon - 0912) Tagon moaned as he returned to consciousness. There was still trace pain in his chest. he was really getting tired of this pain thing. Life was so much easier when his thick hide kept him from feeling anything at all. The problem was, he couldn't quite remember where he was, or how he got there. The first rule of waking up was to check your extremities. He seemed to whole, but he looked anyway. Three fingers and toes, correct. Two legs, two arms, one ..., yep everything was there. Then the memory of the trial came back to him, and the of the end of the trial. He remembered Pitt shooting at the Admiral, and he dove in front of the shot. Whatever Pitt used, it wasn't a standard phaser, that would not have hurt him that much, even at a high setting. The sound he made brought medical attention. Dr. Mackenzie came over with her tricorder. She gave him a strange look. "Doctor," he said cordially. (reply Mackenzie) "I believe I will live," Tagon said. "My thanks to your expert work." Then he watched as the captain came into sickbay. The doctor left him, giving him a pat on the shoulder. He couldn't help but smile as she walked away. It was becoming more of the gate of a pregnant woman. The two talked for a moment and then Rofellian came in to see him. " Good morning Mr Tagon, how are you feeling ? " he asked Tagon nodded at the captain, "According to the doctor, I will live. Is the Admiral alright?" Rofellian nodded, " In other circumstances, you'll have been promoted and decorated for your brave action." "Yes sir," Tagon continued, "but circumstances are not different. May I ask what the final verdict from the trial was." " I don't have much time Ensign," he said, not directly answering the question. It could not have been good. "I've got a proposition for you. As you know several Security Officers have already decided to leave us and it's only the beginning. On the Beta Quadrant, we will stationed in an unexplored sector and the security of the station will be my primary goal." Tagon was well aware of the appalling shortage of security personnel, and them losing a security chief would only make things worse. At last discussion Balok had not decided on his own course of action. "I take it then," Tagon started, 'that the trial did not go ..." Rofellian interupted him. "Let me finish Tagon, the Security Department is already understaffed, we haven't got a Chief of Security and I'm not yet sure that Ensign Balok will stay with us. I can't afford to loose another good officer, seeing that I don't know where we'll receive new officers so here is my proposition, you can stay in the Security Department and I'm offering you the place of Constable, I know that it has already been made in other stations." Tagon cocked his head to one side. He would no longer be a Starfleet officer, but then again, it might make his job of enforcing the laws on the station a little easier. "So I take it that I have been relieved of my duties as a starfleet officer. What do the other captains have to say about this, and Admiral LaDona?" " I don't care about what the others will say, I'm the one who is running this station and the best placed to evaluate our needs. Take your time, you don't have to give me your answer now. I hope to see you at the meeting this afternoon. Our Doctor has assured me that you would be on your feet soon." Vladek stated "I do not require time," Taogn said immediately. "I accept your proposal." Rofellian smiled, and nodded. then he turned and left. Tagon lay back in his bed, feeling much better, until a twinge of pain ran through his chest. Still, it didn't seem so bad. He still had purpose. (reply Mackenzie, any) (posted by Al Muir) Stardate:.. Mission: Down to the River Mission Day 1 Stardate: 2406.07.04 (Starbase Geneva - Deck 138 – Fighter Deck – FSCO – Major Richard Daniels - 1235) Richard entered the fighter deck as the flight crew came to attention Richard salted and made his way to the grouped pilots. As he moved closer one of the groups Doug came forward. " Repairs on Skull flight are on their way Sir." he reported then he asked, " What's our next destination Sir? " “Our destination Lieutenant is here,” Richard stated pausing and then taking him to one side. “As you are aware Geneva is breaking from the main command therefore they need every bit of help they can muster. Therefore Captain Rofellian has offered our squadron a position here on Geneva,” Richard paused to gauge the Lieutenant’s response. (Reply Doug) “So you will remain? Im guessing of course. I have already stated my willingness to remain,” Richard stated informing the pilot officer of his decision to remain aboard Geneva. (Reply Doug) “What are your thoughts about the other squadron members, will they join us?” (Reply Doug) “Well I will contact the First Officer and begin the preparations for housing. I wont make it a order for any to remain but give them a choice in the matter of if they want to,” (Reply Doug) NRPG Add More iyw RPG (Starbase Geneva – First Officers Office – FO & FSCO – Lt.Cmdr John Wilson & Major Richard Daniels – 12:50) Richard entered the room and smiled at the FO he had done a quite impressive task and had changed considerably since his earlier days. Richard was about to speak when the FO raised his hand to silence him. As John pulled out a small black object for beneath the desk he activated it and then spoke. “This will block sensors and any listening devices it is safe to talk,” John stated looking at the Major. “Good, does he believe it?” “Of course he does, although he is characteristically suspicious. It will be a long time before you gain is full confidence,” “Of course that was to be expected,” Richard stated pausing. “So what is the next step?” “Of course we will need to place your fighters and begin simulations, you have your own holodeck. You need to be able to protect the station, im glad you took action to join us. Im sorry for the loss of life though,” “The informant was aboard the freighter so the information he held died with him. They killed 500 to silence one man,” “However this is another that has the information,” Richard stated, John lent forward on this to listen more carefully. “Aboard the Rygil,” Richard stated. “Does any one know?” John questioned. “No, however we have the problem of extraction,” “That we do,” John replied bridging his fingers and leaning back into his seat. Mission: For Our Sins / Opportunities of Engagements Mission Day 6 Stardate: 2406.07.02 (Starbase Geneva, Conference Room - CO Captain Vladek Rofellian - 0000)   This trial was definitively full of revivals, after the attempt of murder on the Admiral by Lt. Pitt, it was now Commodore Blackford who had pulled out a phaser and fired on Pitt. It wasn't surprising all the people present had cleared heard the Lt's confession and had understood that he was acting under the Commodore's orders.   The Lt. was now dead on the floor and in the confusion the Commodore had managed to run out of the Conference Room. The Security men present in the room were already chasing him and the Admiral called immediately the station's security Centre "LoDona to all Geneva security forces, Find and arrest Commodore Blackford, on the double and on my authority." =^= Ensign Balok here Sir, we've acknowledged your orders and all the security teams on duty have been send after him.=^= the TAC/ASC replied.   Then the Admiral turned to Vladek "Lock down all transporters, send security teams to every shuttlebay. Now."   Vladek nodded in agreement and said  " Computer. Lock down all transporters. Authorization Rofellian Kappa Lambda 9."   [Authorization accepted. Transporters and S.T.S. are lock down] stated the metallic voice.   The Security teams were already searching for the Commodore so Vladek decided to contact the Marines " Rofellian to T'Vanek."   (Reply T'Vanek)   " Colonel, the Fleet JAG, Commodore Blackford had just killed a Officer. Send Marine units to all docking bays and shuttlebays. The Commodore doesn't have to escape the station in the least." Vladek ordered.   (Reply T'Vanek)   " All right Colonel, keep me informed on the situation. Rofellian out." Vladek said in cutting the communication.   Vladek leaved the conference room and went to Main Ops, followed by Captain Lowell and John, to see how the search was going.     (Starbase Geneva, Main Ops - CO Captain Vladek Rofellian - 0002)   While Vladek was giving orders, Lowell was monitoring the search progress on a console, then she turned to Vladek "Captain Rofellian, according to the floor plan and if I was the commodore I would use the access jefferies tubes and go down. According to the computer logs, the commodore when in various places on the station.  With your permission, and with some of your security personnel or anyone who wants to come with me.  I would like to go inspect them."   Before Vladek could replied, John raised his hand “Captains, the Commodore no doubt have a escape plan I think our best bet it to wait for him to reappear. If we send teams into the tunnels we will be here for a month searching through them all. So why don’t we position teams at all access points and drive him out to us. If we lower the atmospheric scrubbers in the Jeffries tubes it wont kill him but make the air very unpalatable and drive him out. Also I'm going to seal the shuttle bays and order the marine guard at the shuttle bays to full alert to neutralize on site,”   Lowell looked at John and Vladek . "That's a good idea.  We need to make sure that all access are guarded and blocked."   " I agree too." Vladek said in nodding to the Security Officer on duty to do so. "I can organize security to position themselves at all access points plus we can work on a deck ratio 5 to 2. Also we can enable force fields to control his movements. Of course his com has been removed and already discovered and he is not appearing on sensors. He must have a manner to block the sensors that would no doubt be an isotope that is blocking his signal. What do you think Captains?" "There isn't many isotope that can do that." Lowell stated "Captain Lowell, with your permission I would like to use your Chief Of Security to assist us in our search. That is if neither of you two have a problem with it sirs?" John asked. "Actually, with the situation on board, Ensign Griegor is needed in the Cochrane, but I am here... if you want an Ex-Chief Tactical Security officer.  I'm not that rusted." Lowell said   " That's make two of us then, don't forget that I'm also an Ex-TAC/SC." Vladek added "The Ships leaving the station have reduced so if we can keep a eye out on the sensors for any vessels leaving no doubt it will be the Commodore," "The probability is high for that fact.  So, what do you want to be done."  Lowell smiled to John and gave him a phaser.   “These are our potential exits for the commodore,” John stated moving his hand. over the hologram “I suggest if the Cochrane activates a full scan at a minimum gap interval so if he does get off we can get him. Also we Captain shall begin to sweep through the corridors with a security detail deck by deck to locate him. If your ok with that Sir?” John stated turning to Vladek.   " It's okay for me John, while you will go, I'll be in the Security Centre to coordinate the searches." Vladek stated   “Right Sirs, I'll begin the shutting down of the scrubbers and order the security details to begin taking positions at the junction points however we still have too much area and not enough troops hence the sweeping group. Our one Captain,” John stated to Captain Lowell.   (Reply Lowell) “Right, Captain Lowell shall we?” John asked    (Reply Lowell)     (Starbase Geneva, Deck 62, Security Centre - CO Captain Vladek Rofellian - 0050)   Vladek was helping Ensign Balok, the TAC/ASC, to coordinate the searches but there was still no trace of the Commodore, it was like he had vanished like thin air.   Being back in the Security Centre was giving to Vladek a feeling of satisfaction, sometimes he was regretting his previous job at the head of the Station's security, where there was more actions and less administrative work. But he was knowing all that in accepting the place of CO so he decided to enjoy the moment while it was lasting.   He decided to contact John to see how things were going " Rofellian to Wilson, how's your situation Number One ? I've just received several reports from our security team and still no traces of Blackford."   (Reply Wilson)   " I've just remembered something I had studied at the Academy, Captain Lowell had certainly heard it too. Our Instructor was explaining that the proximity of a power grid could cloud a biosignature and so the person would be undetected by the internal sensors. But imagine all the work if we have to look at every EPS conduits." Vladek explained   (Reply Wilson, Lowell)   Vladek listened to John's idea " Hum,...yes it could work, anyway we haven't anything to loose, I just hope he will swallow the bait. I'm sending right away several security officers to secure sickbay."   (Reply Wilson, Lowell)   (Reply T'Vanek, Wilson, Lowell, any) (Posted by Patrick Buidin) Stardate:.. Mission: Opportunities of Engagement/Four Our Sins, Day 6 Stardate:2406.07.02 (USS Cochrane - Ready Room - CO Lowell & FO Tahlmari - 1217) "Well," Alex said, "at least the morning is pass and the afternoon can start. We have a meeting on Geneva for the moving." "I know what you mean," Tahl agreed. "I can't help but think that the longer this takes to get started the more incidents like today we're going to have." "I know and taking the long way home will permit us to breath a little. The only thing a head of us is mapping, mapping and more mapping and in between some planetary exploration." "I could go for some stellar mapping and planetary exploration," Tahl said playfully. "Perhaps we could find a nice, quiet, spacial anomoly that we could study, just the two of us." Tahl winked at her. "I could find other stuff that we could study. I would like to see how far all those alien civilisations extented." Alexandra smiled, but she didn't want to bring anything unpleasant yet, the future was more appealing. Tahl could see that Alex was not catching his meaning so he he gave it another shot. "I was thinking of a more intimate type of exploration. The last thing I want with us is anybody. Let alone a whole alien civilization." "Ah! I see. Getting lost inside a nebula, on shuttlecraft... Just a couple of days." Her smile grew and she extended her arm and hand to him. "Now that's what I'm talking about," Tahl returned her smile and took hold of hand. He pulled her towards him. "Two days? Hmm.. I may have to work on the sensor array to Fugan from finding us too quickly." "I was also thinking of a special holodeck program that I never got to use. A wood cabin in winter in the mountain. A fireplace, a warm and comforting atmosphere." She put her arms around him so naturally it was like old times when in fact they were just in the 3rd months of there relationship. Now that did sound intriguing. Tahl had never been in a cabin, let alone to the mountains, but it certainly did sound isolated. He looked into the eyes of the woman he loved. So much had changed for him recently. 6 months ago he had no one in his life. Now he was getting married. His life was finally coming together, and now someone was throwing a ... simian tool into the works. He never expected to see his family again, and especially not like he did. "Have I told you how much I love you recently?" Tahl asked. "At least since this morning!" Tahl leaned in and kissed her softly. Suddenly a thought came to him to destroy his mood. "I'm a little worried," he admitted. "About what Love?" Her hands on his shoulders she could feel that he was tense but not like before. "My father indicated that my family was in danger," his brow furrowed as he continued his thought. "What if that danger was to you aswell? It seems to be no secret that we are engaged. What if, whoever killed my father came after you too?" "Well, who ever would have a serious problem! Ensign Capps is having an eye on your mother and sisters and his vigilant with are guests. You know that I can take care of myself, I'm not going to let my guard down." Tahl made an effort to lighten his own mood. "Besides, you're not getting away from me that easily." He pulled her into a hug and held onto her tightly. Whispering inher ear he said softly, "I love you." "I love you too so much!" Alexandra let a minute pass, hold him just as tight, but now she did have to ask the question. "I have to ask this. Did you go see your mother? How did it go?" Tahl turned away for a moment and collected himself. "I saw her her." His voice was cold. "And let's just say that it went as I should have expected, but not as I had hoped." "That bad... Do you think that she like the decision your father took so long ago?" Tahl shook his head. "I can't really tell. But she certainly stood behind it. I don't really think she knows how she feels about me. I don't even know if I care. My past is behind me. I need to work to my future, and deal with my present." "Tahl... they are your present and your nightmares tells me that the past ins't behind you... not totally. You have to give it time." She put her hands on his shoulder again, trying to give him some of her strengh. "A lot of things can happen very quickly, you and me know that is true." Tahl couldn't help but agree with that. "I will give it time my love. I will try. Meanwhile, we have a meeting to prepare for, and I have some questions of the Hallonian and Oatian ambasadors." "I like provoking stuff you are thinking. Maybe you are right... I just don't want them to be ready for the meeting, the first minutes are crucial to see the truth. I have a few things to do before then... how about 1400 hrs?" Tahl nodded, "1400 hours it is. That gives me two hours. That should be more than enough time." Tahl paused for a second. "Could you..., ah, tell my mother?" "What do you want me to tell her?" Alexandra was a bit surprised that he knew she was going to see them, but then again it was a logical move. "Just about the meeting, my love," Tahl chuckled, "just about the meeting. I'm sure she does not want to hear from me right now." "Okay... I will. I will see you for diner around 1800 hrs? It's stew night." Tahl licked his lips. "Yummy. Then he kissedAlex's lips, which tasted even better. "I'll see you at 1400 for the meeting." At that he got up to leave. As he reached the door he stopped and watched as Alex returned her mind to her work. "I love you, Captain," Tahl said and then let the door shut behind him. Alexandra smiled, blowing him a kiss and return to her desk feeling that her day would be just has long as the day before. Kaitlyn Mackenzie-23:53)   As Kaitlyn sat and observed the trial up to this point, a lot had happened.  She wished that this was all over with for Tagon's sake too.  Yet, it was always funny how things seemed to go around the Starbase.  One minute everything could be fine, and the next, bam.  The funny part was, she had no idea that anything like that was about to happen......until....   “HOW DARE YOU ATTEMPT TO ARREST ME, LOWELL YOU HAVE NO AUTHORITY!”   With Blackford yelling at the top of his lungs, Kaitlyn ran over to Tagon to see the extent of his injury.   “Kaitlyn, what is the Ensign’s status?”   "How he is going Doc ? Is he badly hurt ? "   "He'll be fine, I just need to get him to sickbay."  Well, apparently at least Tagon had some people who cared about him through this whole mess of accusations.   "Alright...." Tapping her commbadge, she said, "two to beam directly to sickbay, " and they were  gone in a flash.     Mission: Opportunities of engagements/For our sins, day 5 Stardate: 2406.07.02   (Starbase Geneva-Sickbay-2O/CMO Lt. Kaitlyn Mackenzie-16:09)   Sitting there in the meeting, Kaitlyn was listening to all the given status reports as far as staff in each department was going.  The Beta Quadrant was especially interesting to her, so it was a good thing Vladek ask these questions since they didn't know what was ahead of them.   "So Doctor, what's the situation in your department ? Will it be understaffed when we'll be in the Beta Quadrant ? "   "Well, I don't think I'll be overly short staffed.  However, I will be short handed a lot depending on situations that may occur."   "In any case, we could requisition any crewmembers who have first aid basic training or have followed the medical course at the academy to help your people." Vladek proposed.   "That would be fine, be I would suggest only taking people if there was an emergency or there are too many cases to handle.  Since we're already short staffed, that will also help not to take away from other departments unless absolutly needed."   Being done on giving her report, she sat back and listened to the rest of the meeting.     (Starbase Geneva-Conference room-2O/CMO Lt. Kaitlyn Mackenzie-16:47)   The meeting was coming to and end, and Kaitlyn was glad.  Nothing would make her happier than to soak in the tub.   As Vladek reached his point of the night, all the officers stood up to leave, as did Kaitlyn, when she was asked to stay.   "Doctor Mackenzie, can you stay with us for a while ? " he asked to the CMO.   She wasn't sure what this was about, but she wrinkled an eyebrow in wondering.   "Don't worry Lt. I'm fine, I wanted you to stay because Captain Lowell is currently working on something that could perhaps cure my brain tumor. I've taken a look at the procedures, it's seems feasible but I'm not a medic. So I wanted to have your advice to see if we could try it on me, here is the Padd containing the surgery procedures. As you've certainly noticed, my condition is getting worse, the headaches have almost disappeared but I'm experiencing now memory loss." he explained.   ~Oh, I'd better take a seat for this one.~  Sitting down, she said, "All right, lets hear it."     Day 6 Stardate: 2406.07.03   (Starbase Geneva-Sickbay-2O/CMO Lt. Kaitlyn Mackenzie-09:12)   Kaitlyn sat in thought over what had been purposed last night.  She wasn't sure, but she would need to figure everything out soon.   "Good morning Lt., can I disturb you for a moment ? "   Startling her, she looked up.   "Sure, what is it captain?"   "I'm coming to have news about our Brikkar, how is he going ? " Vladek asked.   "At the moment.....ok.  He could still use some rest thought, especially after what happened."   "It's already a relief, can I talk to him for a moment, I won't disturb him too much." Vladek said.   "That's fine, do what you need to."   "Thank you Doc, and I swore not more than five minutes." he replied in smiling.   Sighing, she sat back and started to finish the charts on Tagon.   (Reply: any, none) (Posted by: Stacey) Stardate:2406.07.02 Mission: Opportunities of Engagements/For are Sins, Day 6 Stardate: 2406.07.02 (Starbase Geneva - OPS – FO – Lt.Cmdr John Wilson - 0001) John stood at the main operations panel, the two captains also surrounded the holographic image of the station with the floor plans. John received a phaser, as did the two captains. Looking down he holstered it to his leg and then pulled up the hologram once more. Tapping on the area where the Commodore could have made it to was highlighted and then zoomed in upon. John tapped on it again and all the exits from the Jeffries tubes lit up in yellow and flashed.   “These are our potential exits for the commodore,” John stated moving his hand. “I suggest if the Cochrane activates a full scan at a minimum gap interval so if he does get off we can get him. Now move out!” John stated, clicking back the rifle clip activating the power coils.   (Starbase Geneva – Deck 5 – FO – Lt.Cmdr John Wilson – 00:45)   John bit his lip and continued to move through the corridors poking his phaser rifle around corners before his head. Blackford could still be armed and he had grown quite attached to his head over time. Raising his hand and waving forward he herd the foot steps of the other members of the team and felt the heat of the lights on the back of his head. Not turning around he pulled back to Captain Lowell’s position.   “Captain, we can’t run around the station all day. As the chime sounded Otalz motioned his aid to open the door and let whoever there come in. As he saw that it was the Young Tahlmari he stood to greet him. "Commander Tahlmari it is so good to see you, but, I am so greaved that your father passed away. Come sit here." he said as he motioned for Tahl to sit. Tahl sat down beside the ambassador, a little surprised by his reaction.  The man appeared almost... friendly.  He looked arond to see who had opened the door, to see it was a rather sizable looking Oatian.  Tahl figured him to be a security agent.   There was also a young man and woman standing in a corner, deep in conversation.  They stopped when they saw him looking and the girl walked to a seat at the other side of the room and sat and watched. "Thank you Ambassador," Tahl said.  "Then you have already heard the news." "I am sorry Commander but the Hallonians did not let him rest or the family properly greave before running around telling everyone." Otalz responded visibly sorry he knew. "Then you must also know that I am looking for the responsible parties," Tahl said, getting to the point.  He found he was actually enjoying being in the presence of this warm and inviting individual.  "Ambassador, I hate to ask you such a straight forward question, but do youhave any idea who might be responsible?" "I really don't like to talk about other people, but, you should know that Ambassador Olga Uldar hated your father," he said slowly not wanting to seem to eager to divulge something that this young Tahlmari already knew. "She made it known that she thought he was a traitor, though I don't understand why she thought that." "Yes," Tahl nodded, "I gathered that from our previous conversation.  She certainly seemed to hold an animosity towards him.  But she seemed to implicate someone in my fathers own party.  Do you have any idea what she could mean by that?  And why she thought my father as a traitor?" Otalz thought for a few minutes then got up, "Excuse me a minute Commander while I get something." He walked out of the room and into the private area then returned with a package and returned to his seat. He then looked up at Tahl when he was opening the package, "Now Commander what I am about to show you the other side does not know we have, but, I have had some of my people watching theirs and I am sure that they are doing the same." He handed Tahl the folder of pictures. As Tahl looked at them, Otalz pointed several out that showed Grod with Churk. "Now I don't know if this is of any significance but why are the close advisor and the Oatian from Uldar doing together?"  Otalz asked trying to perk Tahl's interest. In the package that Tahl held also held pictures of Druleana and Grod in compromising positions which Otalz hoped Tahl would see soon. Tahl looked through the set of photographs with interest.  He had not met his fathers entire party, so he really could not identify anyone.  But he was commiting the faces  to memory.  Then saw another face that he did know.  It was his sister.  He was shocked at first but then decided that the ambassador was being open enough to show that everyone was being followed. The next picture he saw was one he wished he never had.  There were some things about your sister you should never see, and this picture was one of them.  It seemed obvious that she and the Zakdorn male she was with were...involved with each other in a most serious way.  The next picture showed an even more serious involvement.  Tahl's eyes opened wide, and his jaw went a little slack. "Oh I am sorry Commander those were not suppose to be in that package" Otalz feigned concern. "I shouldn't be so shocked," Tahl replied.  "My sister is a big girl, and an adult.  I haven't really had a chance to find out what she has been up to.  May I keep these pictures?" "Are you sure commander that you want them?" Otalz had intended for Tahl to ask for them and everything was falling into place, "but, you are welcome to them for you investigation." he relented. Tahl nodded his appreciation as the ambassador relinquished the pictures.  "Thank you Ambassador, these will be quite helpful.  I really do appreciate all of your help.  I must say that I am quite surprised.  You have renewed my faith in politicians." "We poloticians should always be helpful in matter such as these." Otalz tried to explain, "there are times that we have to be coy with our counterparts so we can accomplish what our respective governments want. I hope you understand this seeing that you are the First Officer of a Starship." "Oh, I understand it, Ambassador," Tahl agreed, smiling "but I just don't have to like it." Tahl got up to leave.  "Thank you again Ambassodor" As he got to the door, he stopped and turned around.  "One more question, Ambassador.  Can you think of any reason that these negotiations would be objected to by either of your planets?" Otalz got up and walked up to Tahl to look him straight in the eyes, "Commander the negotiations were up and up as far as I know. The things that I had thought we agreed upon were not totally acceptable to us but we decided to give in that much to end it. If there was any objection Ambassador Uldar should not have aggreed to them." Otalz replied then continued, "why not ask for a copy of the tapes of the negotiations? I think they will help you." As Tahl was getting ready to leave he noticed that one of the advisors was recieving a message.  He turned to a corner and was whispering frantically.  Finally he came up to the Ambassador. "Father, I must take your leave," he said quietly.  "Excuse me a moment Commander, this is my son Benz" Otalz turned to his son to see the look in his sons eyes which told a lot. "Go son!" Otalz agreed. Benz literally ran out the door, almost hitting the edge as it hadn't fully opened .  Tahl thought that it was a little strange, but he was obviously young.  "Well Ambassador," Tahl said, "I truely appreciate all your help.  Thank you once again." At that Tahl left the ambassador.  As he was walking down the corridor he hit his comm badge.  "Tahlmari to Romonov, I need to see you immediately." (reply Romonov) "Meet me in my office in 15 minutes." Before Romonov could reply the ship went into red alert.  "What the..., Romonov where is that red alert coming from?" (reply Romonov)  Tahl took off at a run for the turbo lift.  Before he could get there the ship gave a small jolt as an explosion occured outside in space.  Tahl reached the turbo lift.  "Deck 8," he said impatiently. "Talk to me Greigor," Tahl continued his conversation.  "What the hell is going on." Kara to get everything fixed down there. Calvin was finishing up his last scans and getting a small list done of things that he could work on in Engineering, of course if that is what Lt. Kara wanted him to do. But, Calvin thought he would try to help out as much as possible.   While documenting the usual finding from his scans, an unusual alarm started to go off. It was not a sound alarm but just a blinking light on the right side of Ensign Capps console. When this purple light started blinking red, he noticed that it was coming from deck 8, VIP Quarters. Calvin then realized something that he did not want to realize it was Karonyla Tahimari quarter, which where Captain Lowell was currently located.   ~I am glad that Captain Lowell made sure that I watched that room closely, other wise I  might not have put the extra sensor reading on her quarters.~ Of course the ops station was always alert if something unusual was going on, but Calvin just wanted to make sure, but what was going on in there.   Calvin needed to find out, and then his readings claimed it was an overloading phaser. Calvin first  tried to lock on to the phaser, but it was impossible to find it. A couple seconds later, the voice of the Captain came over the Bridge speakers "Lowell to Bridge... have this section of the ship evacuated. There's a phaser in overload, have a lock on me."    Calvin listened to the message carefully and he knew that Ensign Romonov would do his job just as well as everyone else on the bridge. Calvin took a quick glimpse up at the tactical officer, and then turned back to his own console.   (reply romonov)   "Aye Captain" Calvin responded as quickly as he could.   Calvin was having a hard time locking on everyones communicator, everyone were moving faster then he could lock on to each one of them. It had to be a costly two to three seconds later before he got a lock on everyone in that room. "We have a lock on everyone Captain" Calvin said strongly, and probably a little loud as he got a little excited, and a little scared. He did not want to lose his Captain. Calvin has not been on the ship very long, and really did not know her very well, but she seemed like a great Captain, she made him feel right at home from the day he arrived on the USS Cochrane.    Calvin was trying to still put a lock on the phaser, and trying to think of another way of getting rid of the phaser, but Ensign Capps was not having much success.   Finally one of the officers found the phaser. Alexandra was to far away from a transporter but the bridge had a lock on her. "Capps, you have a lock on by bade, transport it faraway outside the ship... NOW." Alexandra and the 3 security officers ran out of the room to put as much distance.   Calvin half way knew what the Captain had up her sleeve, put the communicator on the phaser and transport it off the ship, but that would be a close call so Calvin transported the lock far away from the ship, but directly in front of the ship, so he could keep lock on the object in space just in case anything went wrong. Outside the ship the phaser blew up.   =^= Ensign Capps to Captain Lowell, is everything alright=^=   (reply Lowell, Romonov, any) (Posted by Calvin Capps) Stardate:2406.07.02 Mission: Opportunities of Engagement/Four Our Sins, Day 6 Stardate:2406.07.02 (USS Cochrane - Deck 8, VIP Quarters - CO Lowell - 1256) She gave a heavy sigh and looked in the mirror to make sure she was presentable. "Yes," Karonyla said, "Yil seemed to be worried about that also." "A death by poison is what is call private... someone wanted your husband to suffer. She kept saying how he had betrayed them, but we could never discover in what way." ~Interesting!~ Alexandra thought. "There must be a reason which I will have to find. The federation asked me to continu the negociations between the Oalians and the Hallonians, I think that you can see the importance on why I need to know everything. "Captain I am glad that I can finally speak with you" "I'm glade too, but I'm not sure who you are?" Alexandra look at this man and others who took a few steps inside. Prothal took his place beside his captain. "Yes I believe introductions are in order, it is unfortunate that we have not met sooner, however given activities thus such matters can be excused. I am one of the representatives for the Oatian, Otalz. This is my chief of staff Bartoz" Otalz gestured to the tall bald individual to his right who had accompanied Otalz since he was first appointed ambassador and had proved to be a most emotional and motivating individual, "This is my chief of security Hartz and this is my daughter and protocol officer Shaolz" Otalz gestured to a short bulking individual with a scar running across one eye and then to a relatively short female with light hair who smiled at her father. "I believe you have already met my chief of intelligence, my son Benz?" "Briefly but yes we did. I do wonder how or from whom your son got the information that the Tahlmari family was in danger." "Wonderful... and thank you again!" She let out a hand to Benz. "I will not forget that!" Otalz turned to face his son who appeared relatively embarrassed by the Captains gesture, ~He may be a gifted individual but he still lacks some knowledge which only experience can bring~ the ambassador thought to himself smiling "Nor will i Captain, Good day" Benz turned and left followed by Otalz and his entourage (VIP Private quarters - Ambassador Otalz - 1342) "Now my son you will please tell me what happened?" Otalz examined his sons movements as the young Oatian collected a drink from the replicator, "Father you agreed that i could use my own discretion in such matters and i did." "Indeed but i still wish to be informed now that you have exercised that discretion, the Federation are important to this and i cannot allow you to jeapordise our present standing with them." "I acted upon information to preserve that relationship father, i was informed that an attempt would be made upon the Federation ambassadorial party and i acted to protect them. As you heard the Captain thanked me for saving them." Otalz paused as he considered the possible scenarios for the events and discounted those that would not benefit the Oatians, Benz was loyal however misguided, "Son you did not stage this attack as a ruse to strengthen our standing?" "No father i did not, the attacker is presently unknown however i am looking into matters." "You will give all information discovered on the matter to the Federation delegation and this Captain Lowell, she seems trustworthy and may prove a useful ally. John always had to ask how any captain could deal with the stress of having that many lives under their responsibility.   " Your idea is interesting, we can put all this people onboard the Nautilus and the Mirthandir, the Nautilus could scout ahead with the Cochrane, her enhanced sensor pallets will be an asset to scan the area in front, while the Mirthandir will watch our back."   “Of course sir,” John then paused and began to think. The Nautilus could not carry civilians because of its duty as scout however nor could the Mirthandir really if it was suppose to protect. John bit his lip he would place the civilians on the Mirthandir at the end of the day the ships at the back would also have the Cochrane and station to protect it.   " You'll see the assignment of the crew for the two ships, and concerning the civilians, have you already an idea how many have decided to leave? "   “We do not have a exact count yet sir. However we will have an exact one before the Shogun decides to depart. Projections with families etc is about a 300 person loss including children and infirm,”   " All right, you'll dispatch them to the Shogun, it's leaving the station tomorrow evening, I'm sure that they'll all have made their decision." Vladek left no room for options for the people and John understood keeping so many civilians that were not loyal carried its problems and potential hazards.   “Of course Captain, ill see to it,” John stated turning back to the meeting.   (Reply None) (Posted By Rich) Stardate:2406.07.02 Cochrane Mission: Opportunities of Engagements/For are sins, Day 6. "Yes, the modifications to the cochrane before we depart for the beta quadrant have been intensely time consuming. I have kept somewhat informed of events and have some basic information on the Captains research, it is romoured that she utilised the nanite technology on Captain Winterborn" "Yes... the rumor is right, she perform the medical intervention on Captain Winterborn. He is doing beautifully, the pressure has been taken out on a certain area of his brain and he is breathing a lot better and is less tired. He promised me to rest but you know captains." "Indeed, they often believe themselves to be quite imortal, regardless of what is logically true. Is Captain lowell listening to her doctors advice?" "No, Captain Lowell is fine even if she is tired. She has a strong constitution. For Captain Rofellian she might need your help, she was talking out loud will she was performing the intervention on Captain Winterborn. He tapped his badge " Mitch to Jenny."   =^= Yes Mitch, what is it ? =^= the Ops Officer asked   " Could you tell me if the senior staff meeting is finished ? " he asked   =^= Well, I've already seen several Officer leaving the Conference Room, so it's certainly over. Why are you concerned with the senior staff meeting ? =^= she asked   " I'm working on the Mithrandir with Ensign Matrix the new ACEO. Thanks Honey and don't forget our date tonight." Mitch said   =^= How could I forget it, already a year that I've met you. By the way, I've bought a new dress, cut low at the back and...=^=   " Stop, stop..let me the surprise. I'll pick you at 19:30." he stated.   =^= All right, Jenny out =^=   Mitch had difficulties to get back to his work, he was imagining Jenny in her new dress. Anyway, he had to finish that job, he tapped his badge again " Ensign Clark to Ensign Matrix."   (Reply Matrix)   " Sir, could you come back to the Mithrandir, I've found the problem with the computer." he stated proudly   (Reply Matrix)     (Uss Mithrandir,  Deck 2, Computer cores - Science Officer Clark - 17:15)   As Ensign Matrix stepped in the room, Mitch explained his findings " Well Sir, at first we were thinking that it was due to the upgrades but we were wrong, I've ran several diagnostic and the results are always the same, the upgrades had been perfectly integrated into the computer system."   He made a pause and continued " If it wasn't coming from the computer itself, it was certainly something else related. Then I've thought it was the powering system of the computer cores, as you known the system is normally powered by an EPS shunt from the aft impulse reactors, but can be powered by a smaller regulated EPS conduit from the warp core. But after several auto-diagnostic, I had to admit that all the powering system was working perfectly."   (Reply Matrix)   " I'm not giving up easily then I've remembered one of the Engineering course at the Academy concerning the cooling of all the ship systems. And I've found what's working wrong, here the cooling of the isolinear systems is accomplished by a regenerative liquid nitrogen loop. The problem is located there, it's a job for the Engineering Department."
